Nope, we were after a couple of wicker baskets but we ended up buying a towel rail, a spatula, a mini one-egg frying pan, a bath mat and six wine glasses!

Oh, and while Mrs Mottie was in the queue waiting to pay, I treated myself to a hot dog with crispy onions and pickle.

I didn’t think I was going to get out. Place went on for miles. Just had to follow the arrows on the floor.

They design it that way, though there are several shortcuts in each store though (doors will say staff access only) but they allow you to bypass big chunks. Quite often, when I know exactly what I want I'll enter via the exit, straight into the 'warehouse'.

The thing I enjoy most about IKEA are the hot dogs and the cinnamon buns at the checkout.

I've only been to Ikea twice, once about 25 years ago, Wembley I think. Next time was 18 years ago after moving to Cornwall, we needed a number of book cases and CD racks so I drove up to the Bristol one in the van. In more recent years they've opened a branch in Exeter but thus far I've resisted the temptation.

I've only been to an Ikea about twice, probably not long after the Bristol one opened (built on the old Bristol Rovers ground - Gasheads were mortified). Brother has tried to go there in more recent years but can never get parked there. Most of the stuff in Ikea is gash, but there is the odd thing worth having.

We took a ride to the local town, to have a general mooch around, where there is a very large British Heart charity shop. They usually have lots of new furniture, household goods, and electronics in there, always a sort of 'lucky dip' crate, of mixed items, some difficult to identify, but all cheap if it's what you happen to need...

Last week I bought myself a new Iphone, so I had in mind to keep an eye open for any useful accessories for that. One item which caught my eye was a 3in1 magnetic charger stand. They had lots of them neatly pilled up, new in their boxes for £15. Once home, I found they sold for £73 each. I had in mind to buy a mag charger of some sort anyway, I don't like plugging and constantly unplugging, it wrecks the charge port.

Today I went with a few mates to the London Motorcycle show at the Excel. I bought two boxes of flapjacks! So, what have you bought today?

Buy a compressor. You can buy those 12v jobs, for not much more than £5.

I have around 16 to 20 tyres to keep inflated, at home. I have a mains compressor, plumbed into my garage, an extension at the front door, and a 12v portable one in my boot.

Much handier, than queuing at the garage. I use my mains compressor so intermittently, I would sometimes turn it on, then forget to turn it back off. I added a 20 minute, mechanical timer to it. Turn it on, and 20 minutes later, it turns back off.
