What have you bought today?

Great! How many pennies?

Cat N?
Cat S... I think/hope because that dent is deep and will have bent the inner wing.

After all the Copart fees on top the cost is £6,732. I can't find the same model car for sale on a '23 plate for less than £16k. Obviously this one will always be worth less because of the Cat S marker, but I don't mind.

Discussing the purchase of a new (to me) mobility scooter, a Veleco Gravis. As near as I can tell, it is almost unused. I'm struggling a bit, with the logistics of transporting it the 60 miles to home. I got a little Erde 102 trailer, but the scooters is too long. I think I could remove the side wall panels of the trailer, so it's a flat deck, they just bolt on, then remove the scooter wheels, and sit it on timbers, the whole lashed down tight, to the trailer.

Bought a tooth, an implant. About £5k, more to come. Needed a "bone graft" (posh polyfilla) so it's going to take months.

EVery time I see a dentist, which isn't very often, they have new kit, it's quite impressive.

One of Mrs Motties mates had the same thing done a while ago. She spent nearly £10k in all and has had nothing but trouble with it - fallen out twice and lost count of the infections she’s had with it. Hope yours works out better.

Today I treated myself to an iPhone 16 Pro Max. Ordered it from John Lewis. £50 cheaper than from the Apple Store plus an extra years guarantee. Picking it up tomorrow. Handing my 15 Pro down to Mrs Mottie to replace her aging iPhone 8. She's quite happy with her 8 but it’s stopped updating now. She just rolled her eyes when I said I 'needed' it - in her eyes, a phone is just a phone. It’s not, it’s much, much more…….

I finally had to stop using the Nokia 6310i I've used for the last 20 odd years. Now have an iPhone 14 - still not used to it; so big, so complex and I'm bl**dy well fed up with mates (and enemies) telling me to used whatzap - what ever that is... Mind you I made the ring Nokia ring noise onto the iPhone.

I used to be of the same mind, hated on screen buttons most of all, rather than physical ones. I'm still not entirely happy with them, but I compromise for the features.

Still sticking with my Nokia 6100. Especially seeing the PITA my brother's smart phones are. Keep it simple.

I have a cheap smart phone. I hardly ever use any of the features, except text and phone. One really useful thing, though, is being able to take and send a photo quickly and easily. Last week I needed to send some photos of my problem to a tradesman, and it was just so easy.

That's the one feature my phone lacks that I would find useful. Have to whip out the camera (anyone remember those?) if I need a photo. However, my phone does have Snake.
