There is a company in the "imaginary money" business that has bought so much gold, it's driven the world price up.

It now has more money in gold than in bitcoin.

Perhaps they know something the mug punters don't.

A coffee machine. Well, Mrs Mottie bought it for me for Christmas. Just fancied a change from the pods. Didn’t want to go to the bother of grinding beans though so will buy pre-ground ones. Walking round Harrogate and saw it in Lakeland. Was £250, on sale at £165. They didn’t have one in stock, said I could order online. It was £165 just about everywhere in the Black Friday sales so ordered it direct from De Longhi. Signed up to their newsletter first and got a 10% discount off of my first purchase, used that and got it for £148 with free delivery. Actually, I ordered a milk frothing jug from them too and it still came to less than £165

A new mattress - our old one, single-sided, supposed to be cool-blue foam, was sometimes, a bit hot during the night. New one, is double-sided, natural one side, foam the other and again sprung. It's costing five times what the older one cost, wonder if it will be 5x better?

Silver has outperformed gold over the last year, approx 75% rise vs 50% rise. Silver is more volatile than gold, and industrial demand is more of a factor. However, the background of high and increasing inflation means that it is still a favourable environment for a monetary metal like silver.
