The recent wind ripped off the trim to one of our windows and revealed a 15mm gap between the top of the window frame and the soldier course above. This is a 1960s house with cavity. Sticking a ruler in shows the gap goes to the back of the brick and hits what I assume is a poured concrete lintel holding up the inner leaf.
This window is 3.6m wide so must have some weight above it! What is holding up the outer leaf? Cheers
