Hi All,

What exactly is "tanking"? I want to tile straight onto plasterboard (not green back, just ordinary). Should I tank this or overboard with aquapanel - is it possible to attach aquapanel directly onto plasterboard?

The room had already been overboarded so seems silly to rip it all off.

Thanks!

tanking is a way of waterproofing a substrate. this is a really good idea if your substrate turns to fluff when it comes into contact with water (like PB!)

you can get 2 types - paint on, or sheet. Paint on is IMO easier for a diy. you cover the joints and corners with a mesh tape, then paint on the tanking with a roller or brush.

if your doing it yourself have a look at bal wp1

Lovely, thanks for your reply, so basically I don't need to replace the PB or cover it with aqua board, I can just paint this stuff on?

Thanks again, I was getting worried!!
