What is this box? (I know nothing about electrics)

Hi I hope you can help a clueless person! I just moved into a new house and I want to install an electric fireplace and wall mount a TV above it. However the wall I want to use has this box at the bottom sticking out. Here are 2 pictures of it.

Can anyone tell me what this is, and whether it can be removed or at least relocated as it is in the way. Thanks

its a fused spur wire in to fuse then out again
is there an appliance nearby

Nope in fact the room is empty, well apart from the ceiling light.

Although this is the last room of the house and the closest to the garden shed. The shed has electricity in it. Could it be related to that?

Well... if you take the fuse out does the shed lose electricity?

I don't know, it has only just occurred to me now that is what it could be for!
Assuming that is the case, what I really want to know is whether it can be moved from the middle of the wall to a less conspicuous place (eg the corner) and is this something an electrician would do?

Yes. How easy it is depends upon where the cables feeding it come from & go to.
