What is this small access lid in the floor? (Ed.)

At the moment this is just for research before going through planning permission for a rear single storey extension. To extend the kitchen in the middle of the area where I am looking to put the extension, there is some sort of cover but im struggling to work what this cover is for.

About 4 to 6 inches in diameter? Possibly a rodding eye (an access point from which to rod drains from, allowing you to rod a long drain or one that turns a corner without a manhole), an inspection cover for a small drain joint/confluence or for some metering equipment

Open it and have a look. If you don't know what you're looking at take another picture
