Went to do a job in a house and found this on the external wall.

Thanks for the replies, sorry but still it is not clear. May be I can add some information, it is installed outside the house, it seems that it has a power supply to it (i am not sure yet because this house is one of those that the wall lights are connected to D/S, with 0.75mm flex, no SFCU and the cable path is an arc shape). It is not big, about 3"x1.5"x1". It does not look like the front opens as a door or can be removed, and seems to be made as safe quality steel.
