In the process of getting my ceiling replastered and found this junction box housing 10 pipes going of to different radiators. Is this normal, I've never seen anything like this before. Also, once the ceiling goes back up it will be quite inaccessible, should I look at getting rid of this or is it fine?
Cheers

That there be a manifold very common, it is a feed and return (the 2 x 15mm pipes) feeding 4 x radiators the 8 x 10mm pipes, not used much these days as all Plastic but very common at one time

I took a radiator off the other day that is fed from this, when the heating came on next time it made a noise that could be heard from the other side of the house for about a minute then gradually went. I'm trying not to use it again till the radiator goes back on.
Any ideas what is going on?

Couple of sweating couplers there too, does the system drop pressure over a long period? Check if they are damp when the system is cold.
