I’m trying to repair a microwave that suddenly stopped working. I tried changing the fuse at the plug but it didn’t fix it, so now I’m trying the fuse inside the microwave. I mistakenly assumed it would be the same size as a standard plug fuse when I ordered a replacement but it’s actually quite a bit bigger.

Anyone got any idea what this fuse type is? (It’s the top one I need to replace.)

Robins questions should be answered,
but....
Have you tested the fuse, has it actually failed?

Thanks. Is that a decent one to get?

I think the problem came from having the microwave in our freezing cold garage.

Please be careful poking around inside a microwave, if you don't understand what's going on!
The charge from a microwaves capacitors can cause serious harm (if by chance, the fault isn't with the fuses).

If the fuse has gone the magnatron is usually what takes it out.
BY all means try and replace the fuse but expect it to fail immediately and do not test without all the covers on.

No.
Fuses fail because something else did.
The something else will usually cost more than a new microwave.
