What membership(s) should a door fitter have?

I need to get an external door replaced and the frame either patched (part is rotten) or replaced. I'd have a go at planing and fitting a new door but because the frame needs attention I'd rather get a tradesman to do the whole thing. What membership should I look for when choosing someone please? FMB is the only I know of, but I get the impression that this doesn't mean a lot.

are you allowed give a rough estimate of what that might cost?

A days work ..... £100 -£150 or thereabouts for labour

to be exact - it would require building control approval or FENSA if the new door consists of more than 50% glazing (including sidelights, fanlights etc
