What paint to use for exterior door? (barratt house)

Evening all,

We live in a "new build" barratt house and my wife wants to paint the front door black. I honestly dont know what its made of so ive enclosed a pic in the hope someone knows what type of front door Barratt use.

It would be great if someone could advise me how to prep the door and which paint would be the best? (undercoat or not?) Im guessing it will need sanding but honestly dont know.

As its a New Build I would guess the Door is UPVC
As for painting it I suggest that you Stick to the Barratts idea that you can have any colour front door "so long as its White"

Thanks for the reply mate. I don't think it's upvc, it's actually got a coat of paint on now. I noticed a couple of houses right up the street have painted theirs so I'll send the wife round to ask what they did. Thanks anyway

After the normal prep, an oil based undercoat and gloss will be fine !
