What paint to use for radiator copper pipe outside wall?

I find acrylic paint stays put on pipes, whereas oil based paints crack and eventually lift off. There is no such thing as chrome paint.

No, the normal paint in a can, applied with a brush, which is intended for painting internal woodwork in the house. There are two types of paint for woodwork in the home (doors, skirtings and etc.) - oil paint and acrylic. The oil paint takes a while to dry, creates lots of fumes and the white eventually yellows, but it is a harder finish. Acrylic dries quickly, no fumes, but the finish is not as hard or glossy, the white stays white.

Thanks any suggestion on brand? I only need a small can. For bathroom towel rail I may use some kind of Gray too.
I used Crown Brilliant White five years ago, I don't think they do small cans, but you might find a sample. It's not as good as oil paint on hard worn surfaces, but it is easy to redo.
Use radiator paint, designed for the job. The trick is prep, wire wool/green scourer the copper clean. If you use Hammerite (others are available) then no undercoat should be needed.
If the pipes are a short run and straight, why not use sleeves?
