Morning all.
Wondering if anyone can help. I've just had an L shape garden sofa delivered and gone to put it all together and the very first screw I need is missing from the pack. I've contacted the supplier and they are saying a week to get the missing screws delivered which I wasn't happy about. I've looked all over the internet but can't seem to see anything similar. It looks like a wooden dowel but it's definitely metal with a thread. It connects the top of the arm rest to the back support of the sofa.
Does anyone have an idea of what it is?
Thanks.

Can't see you finding that, especially as you don't know the exact dimensions, if you had another one to measure that would be something, I suspect you'll have to suck it up and wait.

Thought as much. That's what you get for going budget :p

I was in the same situation a few years ago with a small bracket. In my haste to remove the packing material I had thrown the bracket into the bin.

I've seen two types of similar items referred to as "dowel screws'. Sometimes used for assembling tables (longer and with two threaded ends - coarse screw into the edge of a leg and passes through a diagonal steel corner plate let into the rails) or installing bun feet and the like on settees/chairs (in conjunction with threaded inserts):

or as assembly dowels:

The above from TC Fixings

Maybe a bit specialised, so possibly not stocked by too many firms unless you have a lot of furniture manufacturing in your district

Araldite a bit of threaded bar or bolt offcut in, or wait till next week as it's going to rain all this week!

In that case it is just to stop the seat back from falling backwards, a bit of threaded rod would do the trick, just measure the diameter of the hole to work out what the tread is meant to be.

Sure but if (as does happen) the sofa should break or something over the next few weeks the suppliers will be all 'not our problem' if they get wind the OP replaced a part with something else.

Could it be this kind of furniture bolt?
