What should be in a ploughmans lunch?

G

gassafeman

Cheese
Apple
Pickle
Salad

Id consider them the fundamentals, where as the following I would not

pate
crusty bread
a baked potato
brussel sprouts (ok made that one up)

Mrs GSM has some ambition to make a ploughmans tonight whereas Id prefer a ruby TBH.

If Im going to eat one, Id rather it be a traditional one.

Paul.

bread definetly would be as that would have been a staple part of his diet, based on what the farm would produce!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ploughman's_lunch

A ploughman's lunch (often just called a ploughman's) is a cold snack or meal originating in the UK, comprising at a minimum of cheese (usually a thick piece of Cheddar, Stilton, or other local cheese), pickle (called "relish" outside the UK), such as that made by Branston, bread (especially crusty bread, which may be a chunk from a loaf or a bap), and butter.

Cheers dudes....

Ill opt for the 'ploughmans' curry then.

Paul.

Whole meal bread.
Salted farmhouse butter.
Well matured cheese.
Pickled onion.
Chutney.
An apple to finish.
Flaggon of scrumpy.

My interpretation.
