Hi , I’m trying to remove this mono block set of taps but struggling to find the right tool to remove the large brass nut . I’m not sure what size it is and some of the tools I’ve looked at seem too big to do the job. I’ve tried a large adjustable but can not get any turn on it at all. Thanks

Try holding it with your shifter and turning the tap out from the top. You'll need to disconnect the flexis first because they'll want to turn with it.
You can also try chapping the nut round with a long flathead screwdriver if you can get an angle on it.

I hate those things, I agree with suggestion above, use can usually get a bit of give and the nut will loosen.
If you can expose the tap tail ends, a box (tube) spanner could pass over these and grip the nut.

I’m guessing the taps were on first then sink fixed down in place after.?

That's more than likely right. No thought for replacements or maintenance
I'd give it a good squirt of WD40 or something, and then remove the flexis. They should unscrew as they don't need to be tight, there's an O-ring seal. But if not you could cut them off, one looks knackered anyway.
Then use a big box spanner. As others suggested, it might be easier to twirl round the taps from above, if the holes in the sink are round. Warming the nut with a blowtorch might be needed, but you'd have to be careful.
Just an update and thanks for everybody’s reply’s. I ended up with an adjustable spanner lodged between sink and brass nut with the Mrs turning the tap above . Luckily enough it eventually came loose . The new taps have a different fitting . It’s like a large 3/4 washer instead of a large nut. Thanks again.
On many taps, the manufacturers instructions specify only fixing to hand tight. I had one just before christmas where the basin tap was with a horshoe washer held in by an 8mm nut. I ended up cutting through the tap and screw above the basin . The waste was a knackered push one and just to compond the job about 2 tubes of silicone had been used to seal it. All for a family job!!!
