Hello, I'm looking for advice please on what type of base would be best for a timber framed building on ground that in the winter can regularly be flooded.

It's going to be a storage building about 2.5m wide x 4m long

Here is a pic of the location where I want to build it:

The base of the shed will need to be raised above the water so what's the best method?

If I go for a concrete slab then what type of of preparation would be required? Could I just form a box with shuttering and fill with hardcore and then concrete?

Or are ground spikes are the only solution for this type of ground?

Thanks

Not my area of knowledge. I'd use brick pillars or maybe those galvanized legs as you can adjust them if ground moves...

Look up......Floating shed base.

Plenty of YouTube videos so take a look

It can be a few inches deep at times depending on how much rainfall there has been.

Just grass and a border of soil towards the boundary.

I’d go for the ‘ Alaska Building Off Grid’ standard approach - make 12” dia cardboard tubes, bury a couple of feet into the ground, then fill with concrete. That lets you get all the levels done at the same time as well!

Is that basically concrete piles? Would I need a big auger drill to make the holes then?

Is that a river behind or just flooding?

Is 3 inches the maximum depth of flooding you ever get?

Have you thought about access to the shed when it's flooded?

It's just flooding.

It can be a few inches deep sometimes, I have never actually measured it.

I will build a step to access it.
