Put a query in Building about Paramount, no reply, so I thought I'd ask here:
Need to waterproof inside a shower cubicle. Had great success in the past with Abacus Elements board.
When the cubicle was done a decade ago, the Paramount was tanked with a Mapei tanking fluid.
I haven't stripped the tiles off yet, so not sure how successful this has been, but feel that Elements board is the way to go.
One side is green PB on stud: no worries, rip the lot out and fix 12mm Elements Board to the studwork.
The other is Paramount....
It's probably the ideal solution, but if I can help it, I don't want to dot and dab the Elements board to the Paramount as I don't have the space. I'm thinking of using 6mm Elements board on the Paramount as it saves me a bit of space.
The alternative to dot and dab is to use something like Gripfil.
But whatever I use, I would like to also use mechanical fixings.
I was thinking of hollow wall anchors with CSK screws, so they don't protrude from the fixing washers.
These will (hopefully) give me a solid fix to the Paramount.
