Hello there,

I would like to cover an existing kitchen floor with a covering which suits my taste better. The floor is tiles and there is a switch on the wall where you can warm the floor from. I'm not sure what system of underfloor heating has been installed.

I dislike the tiles but as there is nothing wrong with the actual floor and it's functionality, I was wondering if I could put a vinyl on top (would the joints show through?) or tile on top?

I'm very new to this and a little lost. Id like to choose something tasteful but not waste money when it's a good solid floor.

Many thanks for any advice, Pommy

If it's operated by a switch then I would guess it is electric underfloor heating.

I assume by 'tiles' you are referring to ceramic or similar tiles, in which case covering them with a vinyl will show the joins as the vinyl gets trodden in.

Hi there,

You guess correctly :) any ideas what I can cover it with? Or hide the joints? Thank you :) Pom
