I'm based not too far from Colchester - The builders and tradesman that I've spoken to seem to prefer to either do it themselves or share a labourer between them

Here in London is £100 more or less.
It depends what the labourer can do.
If they need to be told even how to sweep, you can get away with £75.
More for good ones who know how to do most basic things (making tea, sanding, screwing bits of wood together, use a sledgehammer, dismantle things, keep tools in order, basic painting, use a drill/sds, know how to make tools ready for the job, look after the needy bricklayer, mix various aggregates, roll fags, etc.)
