Don't get a Currys "Whatever Happens" extended warranty.

We took one out about four and a half years ago on our tumble drier. We had the control panel replaced within the first year. This has now gone wrong again.

Phoned on Monday; told engineer will arrive Wednesday. Later that day they phoned back to say he could come today - so far so good.

Engineer (not from Currys) arrived about 30 minutes ago and diagnosed the cause as a broken component. "I'll have to order one", he says, "it will take about a week." We ask why the component is not carried and was told they would need a huge warehouse etc to carry all the parts.

"Engineer" leaves so I phone Currys to complain about the service. The person at the other end of the phone tells me that the two day turn round time they state is only to "diagnose the problem". The engineer has 21 days in which to repair the machine.

I wish I had taken out a contract directly with the manufacturer.
