I am sure it is, and I am going to miss out by not being on it

we have had a massive change to a comittee I am on and they have decided 'Whats-Up' is the way forward - I am the only one without a smart phone, starting to wonder if I am the only person on the planet not to have one - lol

I think you may be.
You're missing out. The ability to do a quick Google search for something, to access a document, a QR code, an email, order from Screwfix etc and not to mention Maps for navigation is invaluable these days.

Not to mention online banking, I haven't been into a bank for about a decade.

its worth pointing out that several live tv programs now allow you to message them live with whats app during the program
the actual messages will i expect go via the editing or production desk for filtering before being offered to the presenters
