I'm installing a new ring circuit and i'd like add a socket above my fireplace (for the 65" 4K TV :D:D)

However I need some advice on the safest way to route the cable

From the four options attached (i.e. A,B, C,D) what would be the safest/simplest way

FYI -Option A is chasing straight up the wall, placing cable under floorboard in upper floor, then chasing straight down to the socket on the chimney breast

A = yes
B = yes if the chimney breast is 300mm depth or less
C = no
D =yes if the chimney breast is 300mm depth or less

Unless this is a bedroom, that it far too high for a television.

Don’t forget aerial, satellite, CAT6, HDMI and other cables you will need for the TV.

But as flameport says it is too high for a TV. Will the fireplace be used? With rising heat your TV won’t last long.

Above the mantle seems to be the fashionable place at the moment.

Crazy how it seems to have become so popular above a Fireplace. A

Consider fitting a switch to control the TV socket for easy isolation.

Why do you want the telly over the fireplace?

As he is fitting a socket pulling the plug is the best isolation there is.
