Greetings to Everyone,
In the course of renovating my bathroom thanks to some dodgy tiles/plasterboard I've discovered the Shower is being fed on a 6mmsq Cable.

The route is as follows:

0.7m Clipped to a plasterboard wall inside a cupboard
1.7m Floor Void
1.5m Inside a Stud wall (with about 0.5m of 20mm Conduit)
0.5m Stud wall between Switch Isolator & Shower

Should this cable run have been in 10mmsq?

Many thanks for reading this far

6mm2 T & E inside 20mm conduit?????

It should be 10, really. Although as long as there are no other derating factors, given the short distance (is it really 4.4m long?) I suppose 6mm2 will suffice.

But I would future proof it and fit 10mm2.

Thanks for the advice securespark.
The bathroom is directly above the meter cupboard. :(

I thought the cable would need replaced but a second opinion is always appreciated.

Cheers,

Rusty Scot
