Whats these external trims called? What's best to replace with?

Hi guys, what do you call the black trim/boards on my 60s town house? I am going to get them replaced in UPVC. Is that possible? Anyone got any links to the stuff so I can research?

It seems to be a ply or something and its very weathered and cracking.
