What's this wood?

I think it might be teak, any good qualtiy wood wax or oil will do the trick

Never heard of those two Jason, they are the originals from the house (I assume) which is from 1880+ if that's any help, the wood comes off orange when sanding.

The handrail, which I hope is the same and original once the paint is off, seems a little redder but I hope I can finish both same...any suggestions to a top finish for this? Might be a job for a specialist if need be.

SANDING????? There's no better, faster way to devalue old wood. Just remove the paint then stop.
