What's wrong with my mini roller kit?

We brought the above today from B&Q thinking this will save time and avoid unsightly brush lines from undercoating & glossing our woodwork.

Unfortunately both the emulsion & gloss rollers leave lots & lots of air bubbles.

Is this normal !!!

Has anybody else experienced this problem or are we doing something wrong

Roll slowly, no you aren't doing anything wrong, other than rolling too fast.

That's promising ! I tried rolling both fast and slow - slow was better but still left bubble/peaks unless I rolled very very slowly. Do you think I had too much undercoat on the roller?

Nope, you can't stop the bubbles they will smooth themselves out, just slow and steady !!

Before I do, which roller is best - the sponge or emulsion one for undercoat?

Oil based paint, sponge, emulsion err... the other one !
