What's wrong with this?

It's an isolator feeding a timeclock for an immersion heater

Triple pole isolator switching the neutral:cool:

Looks like the install method could be better - seems to be in an exposed area judging by the grime and rust.

No proper cord restraignt on the T+E either, and I am not sure on the flex....That does not look like a TRS gland.

The metal clad part of the switch is also un-earthed due to first point.

no earth sleeving on the mains in
no gromet in the hole the mains comes in
no blank gromet in the side hole.

Another of those 'well it works OK so what's wrong with it'

It's a kopex gland, (pvc coated metal spiral wrapped flexible conduit)!

Though I think lack of strain relief and IP2X are the least of worries :)

most of the problems you can get away with but IMO not the "switching the earth" one.

how do you know that it switches the earth and neutral?
it might just switch the center pole.

Or the CPC might be being used as a switched live, in which case it should be connected to the switch

The timeclocks showing the wrong time, the picture was taken at 11:50 with a Nokia N82
