That's rank stupidity.

"I didn't know it was going to be noisy" -FFS there's a 4 lane road 1 foot away from the garden. I mean how stupid do you have to be not to ask yourself the question.

Typical sales fiddle. Arranging viewing at times of least noise.

That said she must have known there was a main road behind the garden fence, a bit of research would have shown that up as a reason for not buying the house.

I do agree that a safety barrier should be installed.

I saw this one and literally couldn't believe it. Even if that road became a 30 limit there would still be a fair bit of noise in her garden and that side of the house. And, given its close proximity to a major road, more fool them for not arranging a weekday viewing. This should have been combined with standing in the back garden for 10 mins minimum during weekday mid afternoon to gauge noise e.g. if sitting out on a summers day.

As others have said, I do however agree a safety barrier should be installed

I saw that this morning, almost posted here too!

Funniest thing was when she said "It's like living next to a motorway." - does she have experience of living next to a motorway, you'd think she'd have learnt.

Sad, but she obviously knew there was a dual carriageway on the other side of the fence!

Probably could not afford more, and decided to buy it anyway and then campaign to have the speed limit on a dual carraigeway reduced, and speed cameras installed...
Of course, it won't make any difference, lorries driving 50mph outside your bedroom window will still keep you awake.
