when upstairs shower the drains downstairs smell

There is a smell that come up through my drains in my bathroom in my flat which is the ground floor in a house after my upstairs neighbours have finished having a shower. It only happens when they have a shower.

Can you tell me if it is blocked drains, if I can do anything to fix it and what might be causing it. Thanks

it might also be a leak from their pipe or shower trap, especially if their drains pass through your flat in a duct.

otherwise a blockage is likely.

Can be caused by damage to the pipes, more often caused by inappropriate things being flushed down toilets.

have a look for inspection hatches.
