exactly did:

1. 10mm² MEB's (as opposed to 6mm²)

2. The requirement for RCD protection for socket outlets etc...

3. Regulation 314-01-02

come into force?

When did the 16th come into force? Our house was rewired in 1990, no provision was made for RCD protection for any circuit. House fully bonded in 10mm i think, with 6mm to the bathroom.

Why all the questions Simon?

The 16th came in in 1992, but don't know the exact date.

Crafty, If you think he's asking alot of questions on here you should see the amount of Emails I getting from him

Before he spreads malicious rumours about me, I've been asking him for some pictures of intakes & stuff for a powerpoint presentation I have to put together for some of the guys.

I have offered a liquid recompense, but don't have a matter transporter (or at least it refuses to deliver to Yorkshire!! )

I grew up on the 15th, but cannot remember when these "new" regs came in - it's helpful for customers if I can tell them when that particular requirement came in.

The 16th was issued on 10 May 1991. It took effect from the 1 January 1993, with the 15th valid until that date. It was made into BS 7671 in 1992.

Whether all those regs to which I refer changed with the 16th or not, I'm not sure.

Just looking at the 15th. 314-1 and 314-2 are very similarly worded to the 16th.
