Where does it state use an isolator for a shower?

Other than following manufacturers instructions where often they require an isolator to be fitted since it does not rotate I can find no requirement to fit an isolator.

I wonder if it is in one of the parts of building regulations rather than BS7671:2008?

I was always under the impression we had to fit them but can't find anything to say we must.

Please include reference if you know where it says you must fit one.
 
There isn't a regulation specifically covering a shower or cooker switch.

However, if you think anything in 537 covers this then you may wish to fit one.

As you say, the manufacturer will demand one so ...
