They now call handymen because plumbers charge £200/hour...
Well I certainly don't. Besides handyman don't have a clue, "builders" who are out of work basically.
Certainly ok up here in the central belt - More work than I - and an associate I hand stuff off to - can cope with TBH.

Looks like too many people are learning from diynot.
The plumber that I use regularly can't fit me in until October. He is busy doing bathrooms. He would fit me in if I had an emergency.
Whether learning here, YT or another forum, I think this is the case for a lot of folk who can’t afford plumbers or they’re making do.
People are watching their pennies more so than ever, and I suspect this won’t change until the GE has been held and the next government makes it clear about tax and ni changes
We are as busy as we want to be (picked up 5 boiler changes last week) but certainly things are generally quiet
