Where to find plasterer?

I need a plasterer in south east London and not sure where to start looking.

I've tried using family recommendations but either they aren't willing to travel as far over or they just don't ever call back.

I did have a plasterer a couple of years back but he has disappeared as far as I can tell (no response to emails and phone just rings off - disappointing because at the time he wanted to do the rest of the house but I couldn't afford it).

I only seem to be left with those rated people type websites but everyone here recommends against them. How do I find someone decent?

Ask neighbours etc ? Any other work you've had done around the house that your generally pleased with, ask them if they know anyone, word of mouth is the best way, people you work with who have had work done and been pleased.
