Spot on, be it clothes or dishes, we want value for money. But I have to admit, the washing machines, clothes or dishes, do a better job than manual washing, would not want to put my hands in those chemicals. Even drying, we are seeing comments over pollen and bird lime on washing specially with hay fever, where it is recommended not to dry outside.

I use solar to dry my clothes, the solar panels generate the electric the drier uses.
