Presumably the 900 lm is brighter - just.

It just shows that the "equivalent wattage" is a meaningless nonsense.
The wattages are not equivalent; they are completely different.

The light output is quoted in Lumens (Lm). That’s the number to look for.

First of all, think about what sort of light you want:
Cool white, warm white,etc.
Then you can compare the delivered light amount by looking at the lumen figure.

It looks like the Enlite lamp has a slightly bigger lens diameter from those images and specs and with a 90mm cut out compared to a 70mm I'm not surprised but the Robus has more lumens so must have a slightly more intense light due to being more compact diameter wise?

Very true.

A one watt LED element can be pulsed with 5 times it's normal ( continuous ) rated current ( 5 watts ) provided the average wattage is less than one watt.

To the human eye the lamp when pulsed will appear to be about 5 times as bright as the same lamp when supplied with it's rated steady current.
