Hi all, looking to install external cctv for home use, minimum 2 cameras, maybe with motion detectors, recorder will be fitted in an external garage, cameras outside, what should i look for in camera spec, lens ect.any fedback would be greatly appreciated, not on a budget, but dont want to spend a fortune.

Many Thanks terry

You need to think about what exactly it is you want to both look at and record, level of detail, recording period etc.
Word of advice. Drop the notion of using motion detection - unless you are going to be using decent seperate detectors. For the price HDs are now there is no economic gain anyway.

Then, have a word with the boys at

Hi Terry
Depending upon how savvy you are with technology you could have a look at Zoneminder free software. It gves you motion detection on a PC and is very expandable

Cheers Alan
