Rearranging a room and need to put a series of shelves up. However when putting in a new socket I found the wall is 3 boards thick for some unknown reason.

I would normally use the anchor type fittings the you set with the gun, but I’m not sure they’d be long enough to get through the 3 boards before they start anchoring out. Or do I just need to buy longer ones?

Any ideas what to use? Thanks

Depends on the weight you're planning to put on the shelf

Uno plugs or duopower are very good for plasterboard fixings

I take it you are unable to fix into the studs?

you can get the anchor ones from toolstation with enough ‘land’ on them to accomodate 3 boards.
