Rearranging a room and need to put a series of shelves up. However when putting in a new socket I found the wall is 3 boards thick for some unknown reason.

I would normally use the anchor type fittings the you set with the gun, but I’m not sure they’d be long enough to get through the 3 boards before they start anchoring out. Or do I just need to buy longer ones?

Any ideas what to use? Thanks

You can buy longer screw to use with toggle type bolts, buy why not simply find and fix onto the vertical studs? Much stronger, you just need longer wood screws.

The shelves are only small and need to be centre in the room. I could probably get away with one side in a stud. Thanks
