Which heater for portacabin

20 degrees is very warm for a portacabin. Are you growing plants in it or what? Why do you want it constantly warm?

tell us how it is insulated (ceiling, walls, floor, door, windows). 2kW may or may not be enough.

Anyway an oil-filled rad will be less likely to wear out or start a fire than a fan heater.

A 2kW heater running 24 hours a day will cost you about £5 of electricity a day in cold weather.

You will need a properly installed electrical supply to the cabin, probably a 20A circuit to allow for lighting as well as any other minor oddments you may want. If you are going to use a toaster and kettle at the same time as the heater you will need more.

The portacabin has books stored in it which are starting to curl up with the damp.

The cabin is standard portacabin constrution and has a proper fuse board.

Humidity is as important as temperature when storing books or other documents (45% - 55% relative humidity ) is ideal.

If using shelves, do not have them on outside waals (difficult not to in a portercabim) as this can cause condensation and temperature fluctuations.
