Hi,

I am having a new kitchen fitted, and the electrian has agreed to fit LED plinth lights if I source what I want. I will need 5 metres, and fancy the multi coloured ones, but in going for those, am I sacrificing brightness over just white light?

I was thinking about something like this:

http://www.lightingever.co.uk/rgb-led-strip-non-waterproof.html

Which is a complete kit for £20.

Is this suitable? Are there better / brighter alternatives?

Is this the same?

Any thoughts or advice would be great.

Honestly if you're going to the expense of having a new kitchen fitted I wouldn't try to save a couple of quid on some lights from eBay. You'll be paying someone to fit them after all and it will be a huge disappointment to end up with some tacky cr@p that you never use

I would suggest ones you can control from a light switch. And if you must go with colour changing, you want ones that will remember the last setting you had. Many do not remember once you switch them off. Colour changing ones will have an extra control box to control the colours, so consider where that goes also

Get some advice from your spark, go to wholesalers or lighting shops and be prepared to pay a bit more or you just wont use what gets installed.
