Which oil filter?

I have accumulated quite a few new oil filters, many with no, obsolete or unrecognisable type numbers!

Does anyone think that there is really a lot of difference between them?

To the point that if it is a Ford/Vauxhall family car ( rather than a Ferrari ! ) and it fits then it should be find to use them!

Personally, for what they cost and their importance in protecting the engine, I’d bin them and buy new filters as and when you need them.

Some filters have anti drain valves, some have pressure relief valves incorporated so I'd follow Mottie's advice.

I don't know who is OE for Vauxhall, but I believe good old Mann Filters are OE for ford.

There's plenty of YT videos dissecting oil filters showing some of them to be poorly made.

My personal choice is 1st Hengst, 2nd Mann.
