which pump for a well

Hi I have a deep well in the garden which is approx about 15 to 20 ft deep
and I would like to know how i could pump the water up through a pipe and into a old well pump ornament . I would like tube able to have the pump on ground level and covered up and drop a pipe into the well
could anyone please give me advice or any links to what I can do

Consider that a pure vacuume can only lift water 33ft. So to get water up 20ft, you're talking a VERY strong pump.

I would advise a submerible (possibly dirty water pump) such as http://www.screwfix.com/prods/55753...ectric-Water-Pumps/750W-Dirty-Water-Pump-230V.

Although I'm not sure what it's maximum lift would be.
