hi there, can anyone tell me if any kind of "Stove rope" is suitable to replace the rope in my flue seal to boiler joint, ive noticed there is Ceramic and glass fibre and others. Thanks in anticipation
Thanks for that, started a new thread cos the last one is 2 pages long and working its way down the list and as such is less likely to catch the eye as an "older" thread. I am going to rake out the loose powdery old fire cement, I will see if a rope seal has been fitted as I clean down to it, if the rope seal is there I will re seal with fire cement on top of it, if no rope is fitted I will have to source some as some spare would come in handy if the maintenence door seal is u/s ....cheers
I am looking for some aluminium tape to wrap around a flue pipe join on my oil fired boiler flue, theres none locally so I will have to purchase online as my nearest shops are 95 miles away. Theres lots for sale on Ebay listed as "Aluminium Duct tape with a max heat resistance of 180 degrees" I dont think they are suitable, What max temperature should I be looking at. Thanks in anticipation
