I’m glad you’re able to get the paint off.

But I don’t understand your insistence that it’s lino. It’s not lino, it’s cushion vinyl! You’ve posted good close-up photos of the edge of the material and we can tell what it is from those without any doubt. See the Wikipedia page for Linoleum for what that looks like edge-on: in yours, the colour is clearly just a surface layer; lino colour goes all the way through. There’s also the fact that this is a new floor and lino is now rare.

But johnd made a lot of assertions about vinyl, and encouraged inaction
Either he doesn't know vinyl, or he doesn't know my kitchen floor. The latter requires a far smaller leap of logic

i don't know what it is. but i do know that chemicals exist which remove the paint from it, without damaging it.
