it's turned to that kind of trade where any clueless pratt can do it.
Blame the training centres doing acs in 6 weeks.
i have to disagree tho this trade is very technical still, but i get people in my plumbcentre asking the counter staff how to fit a boiler!!

i blame alot on the computer nowdays info's to easy for non trade to get.

In my experience they’ve always been there; usually over by the coffee machine but sometime actually behind the counter
in my local PC the glowworms are now getting popular apparently cos it comes with a 15mm connection so you dont need to uprate the gas supply.....some idiot told this to the counter staff and the counter staff are telling the monkies, and the monkies have been taken in(not surprising), it did give me a good laugh for a while 
Gone are the days when the material/ goods seller was knowledgeable about the product he/ she was pushing. Now it is a computer number and sold (in most case) as such without knowing what it is for or what it does.
I have no problem joe public going to my PC/ Graham/ You Name It trade counter, buying a boiler and fitting it on the wall. When it does not work, who is this punter going to turn to? Answer is me or another recomendation who can then charge to put things right. What I do have a problem with is if they are getting the goods at a price I pay that supplier for same item. Found City Plumbing guilty of that- have not been back to them since.
