Looking at the number of posts on here that relate to problems identifying switch cables in lighting circuits got me thinking. Why not a future change to the regs that specifies different colours for switch cables only-maybe brown, brown/blue stripe, plus existing earth?
This would also remove the need to tag the switch neutral core with red tape when installing (which, based on the lighting circuits I've worked on, is only done about half the time anyway). Think of the collective hours spent across the industry fiddling with little bits of PVC tape!
I can't believe no-one's thought of this before so am I missing something?
Should I patent it now?
