why not soldered??

Solder flows over time and with heat causing a failure, I was on a job today where solder had flowed causing a poor connection on a lamp base.

Screw terminals on soldered wires do become loose, the more solder ( thickness ) the sooner they become loose.

It is also possible that a loose terminal will over heat and melt the solder used to join the two cables in the terminal. When the power is removed the terminal will then cool and the cables and terminal are likely to become soldered together.
