Why so many tubes of Silicone?

It used to be easy buying silicone ...... pick the colour, and perhaps choose a high or low modulus. Sorted.

Now, have a look at Screwfixs' multiple pages of the stuff, and tell me that you are not confused.com

And they all do the same job!

Totally agree. Today I purchased some silicone for a uPVC window installation. Looked on Ceresit website for guidance, but still spoilt for choice as most of them were suitable. Ended up with Screwfix's own brand No Nonsence Builders Silicone, as this was the only one the local depot had in stock in a large quantity.
