Hi folks,

Quick one for you. Amongst the pile of things we want to do, is to errect (or have errected) a conservatory. Due to the size and shape of the house this would end up (subject to planning as it's probably going to project out more than 3m) being almost as wide as the back of the house and thus would be positioned directly in front of two air bricks.

I'm just wondering what the standard practice would be in this situation. One of the airbricks could be repositioned slightly further along towards the end of that wall, and the other could be positioned on the wall around the side. It's a 1990 build house, I guess you'd call it an end terrace/link.

Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have a suspended timber floor in the existing house:

If you can't reposition nearby on the same elevation (getting into the same floor space), one option is to "Duct" the air flow to a new location with a cast in drain pipe.

It is vital to maintain cross ventilation to timber floor spaces.
A vent around the corner whilst better than nothing will not be as good as you will probably find a joist side near to it obstructing the free flow of air.
